Horizons Casino unveils newly refurbished gaming floor and introduces Skewd – a bold Anatolian dining concept in the heart of Leicester Square.

Horizons Casino reveals its newly refurbished gaming floor and the launch of Skewd – a bold new restaurant concept bringing Anatolian cooking with attitude to the heart of Leicester Square. Located at 1 Leicester Square in the historic Queen’s House, this transformation marks a new chapter for one of London’s most prestigious gaming venues. Horizons’ new interior pays homage to the building’s rich history while incorporating contemporary elements that create a uniquely atmospheric dining and gaming environment. Dark wood finishes and sophisticated lighting design create an intimate setting, while an innovative 10-metre plasma screen installed on the ceiling mimics natural outdoor lighting. A new terrace, seating up to 65 guests and overlooking Leicester Square, offers breathtaking views of one of London’s most iconic locations. As Leicester Square’s longest-running casino, with 37 years of history, Horizons brings unrivalled experience to this new chapter – now also establishing a refreshing new dining destination in the area.

At the heart of this offering is Horizons’ new culinary partner, Skewd. Founder and Executive Chef Maz Demir has built a reputation for redefining traditional Anatolian cuisine through his acclaimed Skewd restaurants in Cockfosters and at The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire. This new Leicester Square location within Horizons Casino is the brand’s most ambitious project to date, featuring an open-fire mangal grill and a striking graffiti wall by renowned artist Mr Lee. The restaurant also includes a stunning private dining room for up to 12 guests – perfect for intimate celebrations and corporate gatherings.
Skewd’s menu celebrates the rich culinary traditions of Anatolia, combining premium ingredients with modern presentation. Standout dishes include Wagyu Adana – a luxurious take on the classic, using rich, tender Wagyu beef spiced and grilled over open fire for intense flavour – and Ali Nazik, a traditional Anatolian dish elevated with smoky aubergine purée, tender grilled lamb, house-made chilli oil and fresh herbs.

For the first time in the casino’s history, Skewd will introduce a breakfast offering that runs from morning through afternoon – a unique addition to Leicester Square’s dining landscape. The extensive Anatolian Breakfast Spread allows guests to enjoy artisanal jams, eggs cooked to preference, honey and buffalo cream with pistachios, mulberry, and tahini molasses. Savoury highlights include merguez on hung yoghurt with sumac, hellim with fire-roasted tomatoes, homemade corned beef, and shallow-fried seasonal vegetables finished with burnt butter and pepper purée. The spread also features filo pastry with aged feta, lor cheese with berry coulis, seasonal fruits, and a Mediterranean cheese selection – all served with breakfast pide and a variety of traditional breads including poğaça, simit, and pisi.

Skewd will also offer a specialised snacking menu tailored to Horizons’ gaming patrons, ensuring exceptional cuisine is available throughout the gaming floor. An innovative interactive menu system empowers diners to customise their culinary experience – with the ability to filter dishes by allergies, dietary needs, and personal preferences in just a few taps.

“Leicester Square has always been synonymous with entertainment excellence, and our refurbished venue reinforces that reputation,” said Horizons’ Director, Jeremy Cummins. “We’ve created an environment that respects the serious nature of gaming while providing the comfort and service today’s players expect. Whether guests join us for world-class gaming or to savour the bold flavours of Skewd, we want every visit to feel unforgettable. Horizons is no longer just a premier gaming destination – it’s now a place where exceptional cuisine and immersive gaming coexist. We’re introducing a new kind of energy to London’s West End.”
“Bringing Skewd to Leicester Square in partnership with Horizons marks our most exciting venture yet,” said Maz Demir, Skewd’s Founder and Executive Chef. “This isn’t just about serving Anatolian cuisine – it’s about creating a bold new dining destination in the heart of London’s West End. We take great pride in our heritage, where cooking over open fire is more than a method – it’s an essential ingredient. Fire brings people together, and food, when prepared with creativity and served with honesty, creates lasting memories. That’s the essence of our philosophy.”
Horizons and Skewd are open to patrons aged 18 and over from Friday 20th June, combining world-class gaming with exceptional Anatolian cuisine in the heart of London’s West End.
