Dubai will become a central meeting point for the international hospitality industry at the end of September, when two major business events bring investors, hotel groups, developers, designers and technology companies to the emirate.
The Hotel Show will take place from 28 to 30 September at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, followed by FHS World at Madinat Jumeirah from 29 September to 1 October. Their overlapping dates create a concentrated commercial window spanning hotel development, interiors, technology, operations and long-term investment.
FHS World is expected to welcome more than 100 government representatives and industry leaders. The opening keynote will be delivered by Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, underlining the strategic role that hospitality continues to play in the country’s economic diversification.
This year’s programme will examine investment, sustainability, staffing, technological transformation and the changing expectations of international travellers. The agenda reflects an industry moving beyond rapid expansion towards more disciplined questions of profitability, resilience and long-term relevance.
The meetings will take place against a more complicated regional background. Renewed attacks on shipping and disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz pushed Brent crude above $107 per barrel on 10 September, increasing pressure on transport, construction and operating costs.
Despite that uncertainty, Dubai’s hospitality pipeline and investment calendar remain active. The combination of global hotel brands, private capital, government support and continued destination development ensures that the emirate retains its position as one of the industry’s most closely watched markets.
The defining question is no longer whether Dubai can continue to build luxury hotels. It is which concepts can deliver lasting value once spectacle alone is no longer enough.
